Sell Silver at Great Prices
Do you have old silver at home you no longer want? I offer free valuations (which is the price that I would be happy to pay for the item) on all silver, silver plate, gold and coins. I am happy to evaluate your items at your home address and will cover a 20 mile radius of Newbury without charge- this includes Reading, Winchester, Wantage, Marlborough, Andover, and Basingstoke. Alternatively, I can arrange to meet you at an office in either Hungerford or Marlborough. You can also email me a photograph of the items, but please make sure to include a photograph of the hallmarks, and the weight of the item in grams.

Fair, Honest Prices
As a local, independent silver specialist, I take pride in offering the best possible price on any silver, gold, or coins you may have. Over the years, I have built up a wealth of experience and a comprehensive network of contacts in the silver world, all of which help me to give you the best price possible. I hold a Postgraduate Master’s Degree in Art Market Valuation, so you can be confident of receiving a professional valuation.
All my valuations are free of any obligation. If you decide you do not want to sell, there are no fees.
All Silver and Gold Welcome
Not every piece will have value, but it is worth checking! Never assume that something is worthless- it may not be marked, or have some weird unreadable marks on it, but this may still mean something. I buy all kinds of silver, plate, gold, and coins, from single items to entire collections. If you would like to find out more, call or email me today.
Thinking of Selling at Auction?
The main alternative to selling directly to a dealer is to take your items to auction. It is however important that you are aware of all the charges that are associated with this. Most auctions currently charge around 25% buyer’s premium (including VAT). The more upmarket auctions charge 30%. If I offered you £100 for a cream jug, I would only bid up to £80 hammer for it in the auction (£80 x 25% = £100). You also have to factor in seller’s premium of around 18%, and 1.5 % insurance. There is often a £10 photograph charge as well. On a cream jug which fetched £80 hammer price, the seller’s fees would therefore amount to about £25, so you would end up receiving a cheque for £55; just over half of the amount that I would have offered you directly. There is of course the possibility at auction that two bidders would bid up your item to a level beyond what I would offer, but as illustrated, it would have to fetch an enormous amount more to end up more profitable after all the charges.
